You asked these businesses to come, we asked if they would
THE Central Telegraph recently asked readers which new businesses they’d like to see come to the region.
The Facebook post received scores of comments, with dozens of businesses nominated.
The Central Telegraph contacted every business listed by readers, with many promising to respond who didn’t, and others who didn’t reply at all.
These are the responses from the businesses who got back to us:
The possibility of a McDonald’s in Biloela is still alive with a McDonald’s Australia spokesman saying, “McDonald’s Australia intends to open 100 restaurants around the country by 2022.”
“These new restaurants will be in both metro and regional areas, with a large focus on key growth corridors in each state.”
We have KFC and Dominos in Biloela but a McDonalds would be a game-changer in the fast food sector.
With ALDI opening in Rockhampton on October 2 (2019) residents in Biloela have been calling for a store in town.
Unfortunately ALDI doesn’t have any plans in place to make that happen.
An Aldi spokesman said, “As we continue to grow, we will look for new opportunities to bring the ALDI shopping experience to more Australians, however we have no plans to expand our business into Biloela.”
Kmart, Best & Less and Spendless Shoes didn’t get back to us.
All three companies have stores in Gladstone and Rockhampton and although they gave us no reply, it still begs the question will they make the move to Biloela?
