Woman dead in crash near Banana

A WOMAN car driver died and two others were injured when a truck and car collided on the Dawson Highway near Banana yesterday afternoon.

The accident occurred at 1.56pm on the Four Mile Creek bridge, 6km east of Banana and 37km west of Biloela.

The woman died at the scene.

The male truck driver and a four-year-old child in the car were taken to hospital.

The highway was closed for several hours while police from Biloela and Moura did their investigations at the scene.

SES volunteers were called in to divert traffic between Banana and Biloela along the Belldeen Defence Road.
