Warming up for Moura Christmas carols

MOURA will kick off Christmas celebrations this weekend with its annual community Christmas carols.

The carols are set to feature a number of community groups, including Oasis Band, Capricante Singers, Moura State High School vocal group, Moura Kindergarten and Kids Oasis.

Santa is said to make an appearance.

Pastor at Oasis Church in Moura and community Christmas carols organiser Julian Young said he looked forward to the community coming together to celebrate Christmas.

"I think Christmas is a great time for people to come together,” he said.

"In our community, so often we are all so busy, scattered and spread out, especially in this day and age.

"So, any time where great portions of the community come together and celebrate something in common, I think that's a wonderful thing.”

The Moura Community Christmas Carols will take place on Sunday, December 2, at Kianga Hall, Moura. Doors open at 5.45pm with carols commencing at 6.30pm.

Food will be available throughout the evening.
