VANDALS left a trail of damage in Queens Park on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the Carnival of Flowers, the ABC reports.

Gardeners reportedly found the destroyed garden beds, which were believed to be tampered with on Friday night.

Terry Royan told the ABC the flowers were ripped up and trampled.

Mayor Peter Taylor said staff worked through the morning to repair the damage.
