The race is on for Team Biloela

SEVEN Team Biloela Tour De Cure cyclists are contributing to cancer research by riding non-stop for 24 hours.

Team Biloela cyclist Don Morris and his team departed on their bikes from Woolworths just after noon today with a police escort.

Their goal, to visit all supporting businesses in Biloela and raise $3,000 to fund cancer research and support through Tour De Cure.

"We've been to Thangool State School first this morning who raised $188 for us, thanks to a free dress day," Mr Morris said.

"We are going to raise some good money and we have about 40 sponsors at the moment.

"We've had great support generally from all levels.

"It's a great opportunity for us to give back to the businesses that support us."

The cyclists will visit each business in Biloela that have supported them with a donation this year and at 5pm tonight the team will be at the Biloela Hotel for dinner and fundraising activities.

Following dinner the cyclists will ride around the region overnight to places such as Mt Scoria before returning to Woolworths for breakfast on Sunday morning.

There will be raffle tickets on sale out the front of Woolworths until 5pm today and from 8am-12pm tomorrow.

Biloela Plumbing Works are holding a sausage sizzle tomorrow morning and the Team Biloela support crew and volunteers will walk the streets of Biloela collecting donations for Tour De Cure.
