Boy, 15, charged with Jack Beasley's murder
A TEENAGER has been charged with murder over the stabbing death of a 17-year-old boy in Surfers Paradise on Friday.
Jack Beasley, of Parkwood, died in the Gold Coast University Hospital after a fight between two groups of youths outside an IGA supermarket on Surfers Paradise Boulevard.
Three youths handed themselves into Beenleigh police this afternoon after photographs of them were released publicly.
About 7.15 tonight, police charged a 15-year-old Waterford boy with murder and acting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Another boy was also stabbed during the altercation but survived.
Friends this morning took to social media to express their grief at the loss of Jack.
"Gone way to soon my brutha … it feels like yesterday we were roaming the streets getting up to nothing but trouble together," one mate posted.
"My thoughts and prayers go out to ur family Jack cant believe it my bra fly high & rest easy my brother ill see you soon.

"Rest in Peace … you deserved better," wrote another friend.
Police say the fight broke out between two groups about 8.10pm, and some of those involved fled the scene.
It is believed up to 12 youths were involved in the fight.
Police have spoken to some of those involved but are urging anyone else who was at the scene to get in contact with them.
Shattered friends of Jack gathered at the scene of the tragedy in Surfers Paradise to pay emotional tribute to their mate.
Weeping and hugging, the large group placed bunches of flowers outside the Surfers IGA where Jack was fatally stabbed, as upbeat Christmas songs bizarrely rang from a shop next door.
A family member said no-one wanted to talk and asked the media to respect their privacy.
