Taking care before it’s too late

TAKING care of your mental health is the priority ahead of a key workshop.

The Wheel of Wellbeing (WOW) Workshop, to be held in Biloela next week, aims to equip participants with the skills and a formula to stay in a positive frame of mind.

Lisa Tibbetts, president of the Biloela Community Wellbeing Group, is facilitating the workshop in partnership with CQ Rural Health and the Central Highlands Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub.

“This is a great opportunity for people just to be aware of their mental well-being and keep it under control,” Ms Tibbetts said.

“It allows people to explore the key concepts of positive psychology and how you can use them in everyday life.”

Ms Tibbetts will take participants through the six areas of the WOW which are: Body - be active, Mind - keep learning, Spirit - giving, People - connecting, Place - take notice and Planet - caring for the planet.

“It’s crucial to be able to understand their own mental health and be aware that it’s important to take care of it so you don’t end up with depression or anxiety,” Ms Tibbetts said.

“By looking after yourself, you’re creating a ripple effect for your peers.”

To be held on November 8, 9.30am-2.30pm, Biloela venue to be advised.

Free workshop. For more information and to register your place before November 6 phone 4992 1040.
