A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy who was angry that he was not allowed to watch a Spiderman movie has died after jumping out of his bedroom window.

Police are investigating whether the boy was trying to emulate his hero.

Valentino, jumped from the 19th floor of a  Laguna Apartments , Pluit , Penjaringan , North Jakarta, reported.

Local police chief Suyudi U.S. said the the kindergarten student ran straight into the room and locked the door after he was told he could not watch the movie because a sibling was sick.

The boy's mother, Eva, 23,  tried to open the door of her room but could not.

As the mother scrambled to get help to get the door unlocked, she heard a commotion in lower level apartments where people were talking of someone falling.

The boy was rushed to the local hospital but was pronounced dead.

Police said the boy was a hyperactive child who loved to pretend he was Captain America and Spiderman.
