RC into home insulation scheme wraps up in Brisbane

THE Royal Commission into the Home Insulation Program has lined up its final witnesses - industry experts and bureaucrats - as its Brisbane hearings close.

Today was expected to be the last day of evidence, which included Master Electricians chief Malcolm Richards' view that foil insulation should never have been part of the scheme.

Electrical Safety Queensland Tony Leverton was to be the final witness  and public servants Martin Bowles and David Smith gave evidence.

Last week, Commissioner Ian Hanger QC watched the cross examination of high-profile witnesses including former Labor ministers Mark Arbib, Peter Garrett and Greg Combet.

Former prime minister Kevin Rudd also gave evidence on Thursday.

The commission is investigating the circumstances that led to four deaths, including that of Rockhampton 16-year-old Rueben Barnes, during the home insulation stimulus program rolled out through 2009 and 2010.

Mr Hangar's findings and recommendations are to be delivered to Attorney-General George Brandis QC by August 31.

She told the audience: "I'm thankful for the dialogue around my work and myself".

Lorde tied with Imagine Dragons for the most nominations at the awards with 12, including Top Female Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist.
