Region gets fit 24/7
BILOELA wants to get fitter.
That's the message PCYC Biloela branch manager Sergeant Wayne Cummings has been receiving for years and on Monday the gym and sports facility will allow the region to work out whenever they like -literally.
PCYC will turn 24/7 from next week, giving gym goers the chance work out any minute of any day.
It is an initiative Sergeant Cummings and the team put in place following extensive member demand for the facility to have longer trading hours.
Sergeant Cummings said the move will keep the facility competitive from a business perspective, but the biggest positives would benefit the community directly.
"While it was spurred on by the fact there are other 24/7 gyms coming to town, the main positive is money made by PCYC stays in town," he said.
He said revenue from the 24/7 venture would be put back into the club, to enable activates like sports, bike education and self-defence classes to continue.
"We have a lot of programs for youth and any revenue goes to supporting those as well as out sponsorship of at risk kids or children with a disability," he said.
"We have seen the membership increase over the years but we have a strong focus on members under 25 so being available 24/7 (will appeal to them).
"We are also heavily supported by local trades throughout the process so we thank Templeman Communications, JMV Electrical and Home Hardware for their efforts in getting it up and running."
