'Psycho ex' trashes couple’s wedding, destroys cake

"SHE started screaming and smashing wine bottles on the ground."

Weddings are bound to stress anyone out.

There's where to sit that eccentric uncle your mum can't stand, how to tell your super religious granny that you're getting married on the beach, who to put on the roster of people to help you out of your uncooperative dress when you need to wee.

But there is perhaps no one as stressed out by a wedding as the crazy jilted ex.

The narrator of this story of wedding madness is a doughnut shop owner. She posted on Bored Panda, about the crazy day she served a frantic wedding planner who ran in moments before closing, buying up every last doughnut and explaining that the "psycho ex" had destroyed the couple's wedding cake.

The ex didn't just ruin the cake though. According to the doughnut shop owner's post, "[The ex] stormed the venue … began screaming, before grabbing wine bottles that she smashed on the ground."

It all started when the wedding planner ran into the doughnut shop.

"She says she knows we're probably about to close soon but if we would please, please, please give her just a few minutes of our time, she needs to buy any and all of the doughnuts she can," the post read.

"She says the wedding cake has been destroyed and the bride has been a huge fan of doughnuts since childhood, and is willing to substitute."

The shop owner put together all her stock, wrote "congrats" on a cluster of eclairs, handed them over and the wedding planner ran back to the wedding, doughnuts safely in hand.

A few weeks later, a couple walked into the shop saying they were the bride and groom and that they wanted to thank the shop owner in person for saving their big day.

They also wanted to tell her the full story.

"The groom apparently had an apparently psycho ex, who had been stalking them and found out about the wedding," the shop owner explained. "She became enraged that he was getting married."

"She stormed into the venue, grabbed the wedding cake, and chucked it at the newlyweds! I mean she-hulking a beautiful three-tier cake! Then she began screaming before grabbing wine bottles that she smashed on the ground."

The woman was restrained by the groomsmen and the police were called.

"She was charged with assault, assault with a weapon - from waving around a wine bottle and clocking a groomsman - and destruction of private property."

The couple showed the shop staff photos of the big day.

"I got to see a shot of the cutting, with my eclairs in full view … The wife was laughing and smiling in the pictures, even with cake and frosting splattered all over her once gorgeous dress.

"She said it was going to be one of those stories that she's going to laugh about with her kids in years to come."
