Police bogged after routine patrol saw them stuck in mud

IT might seem more like a job for the region's water police but a junior constable from the Northern Beaches station thought he could help before he got stuck in the mud.

Northern Beaches police Senior Sergeant Barry Green said the crew were just doing regular patrols.

"There was no major drama," he said.

"After receiving calls from the public about people on motorbikes near the boat ramp the crew have tried to access the beach to perform a standard patrol and have hit a soft area and have bogged the vehicle quite severely.

"They weren't chasing anyone and to be fair they did check the area before they drove out there."
