Police officer caught drink-driving at RBT

A CONSTABLE from Northern Region has been issued with a notice to appear for drink driving.

The officer was allegedly detected with a blood alcohol content of 0.064% at a random breath testing site in Cairns about 9.30 last night.

The officer, a 35-year-old man, was off duty and in a private vehicle at the time.

He will appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 5.

This matter will be considered within the QPS disciplinary system.
