Baralaba legend hungry for bid breakfast

BARALABA's former Bulldogs premiership winner Jason Hetherington, North Sydney great and Origin record holder Gary Larson and Kiwi player of the century Mark Graham are getting hungry - for the inaugural CQ NRL Bid Grand Final Breakfast.

Jason Costigan, project co-ordinator, said it would be held at the Rockhampton Leagues Club on Thursday, October 1

The event has been organised to coincide with the actual NRL Grand Final Breakfast in Sydney.

“It'll be a morning of good food, good times and good footy stories that'll inspire people from all walks of life,” said Costigan.Hetherington, famous for his “bushy” sense of humour, is certain to prove a big hit.

“In the UK, they still remember him going on national TV and saying the word 'buggered'. It nearly caused a riot over there but that's 'Dalton' (Hetherington).

“You can take the boy out of Baralaba but not the Baralaba out of the boy,” said Costigan, who worked alongside the former Maroons and Australian hooker at the Bulldogs in the late '90s.
