CAR enthusiasts were out in force on Sunday morning for Kacey's Old School Show and Shine.

The event was a charity fundraiser for Kacey Sanfilippo, 2, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in March this year and is undergoing treatment in Brisbane.

It was held by the organiser of Covered in Chrome. All funds raised go directly to David and Kirsten Sanfilippo to help with Kacey's ongoing treatment.

Organiser Russel Soper said the event was for cars made before 1987.

"Covered in Chrome started in September 2014, we've been meeting at the harbour on the second Sunday of every month ever since. Today is a fundrasing day, so it's a bit bigger than normal.”

After gathering at Mackay Harbour, car owners headed to the cricket ground behind Pinnacle Pub for the rest of the morning.
