New CEO for heavy vehicle regulator

REMEMBER  the name Sal Petroccitto - that's the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator's new CEO.

Mr Petroccitto joins the NHVR from the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, bringing extensive knowledge of heavy vehicle regulation to this challenging role.

The Board of the NHVR announced the appointmenton Monday, following a nationwide recruitment search.

Mr Petrocitto is currently the Queensland Government representative on the NHVR Project Implementation Board and the Board of Transport Certification Australia, and has built strong working relationships with industry and government across Australia's rail, ports and freight industries.

It is expected that Mr Petroccitto will commence as NHVR CEO on May 19.

The Board wished to thank the current Acting Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer, Melinda Bailey, for her leadership of the NHVR during the past few months.
