Update 4:50pm: A MAN in his 50s has been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Malcomson St, near the Gooseponds this afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Queensland Ambulance Service said the man was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition after feeling dizzy.

Both lanes along the bridge are now clear.

Earlier, 3.55pm: ONE man is being taken to Mackay Hospital following an assessment by paramedics after he was in a three-vehicle crash in North Mackay.

Another person is currently being assessed by paramedics.

The traffic along the bridge at the Gooseponds in North Mackay is down to one lane.

The crash happened just after 3pm at Malcomson St.

BREAKING 3.30PM: EMERGENCY services are responding to a multi-vehicle crash in North Mackay.

Initial reports indicate the crash has occurred at Malcomson St near the gooseponds.

An emergency services spokesperson said crews were on their way to the accident and it was unclear at this stage how many vehicles are involved or if anyone has been injured.
