Midweek heatwave set for Biloela
THE weather will be heating up around Biloela with a heatwave coming through the Central Queensland region.
It is strongly recommended to stay hydrated, and use plenty of sun shade protection.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, low to severe heatwave conditions are forecasted.
Wednesday and Thursday are expecting to to hit the temperatures of low 40s with no chance of rain.
Overnight temperatures will drop to low to mid 20s.
BOM spokesperson said the heatwave was expected to last until Thursday.
"Inland locations are especially going to be vulnerable to the heat,” BOM spokesperson said.
"Places like Biloela will be getting up to 41C today and up to 42C Wednesday.
"Going further inland, places like Emerald are looking up to 43C in that three day period.”
Any chance of the Tropical Cyclone Oma crossing the coast and turning into a much needed rain depression is uncertain at the moment.
The future movement of Tropical Cyclone Oma remains uncertain with competing steering mechanisms making it challenging to forecast at this point.
Some scenarios see Cyclone Oma moving away from the Queensland coast in a south-easterly direction, remaining close to the coast and moving in a northerly direction or possibly even crossing the coast.
