Mapleton man, 20, dies as car hits pole at Maleny

A 20-YEAR-OLD Mapleton man died last night when the vehicle he was travelling in crashed into a power pole on Maleny Stanely River Rd, at Maleny, about 7.20pm.

The man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene, on Maleny Stanely River Rd.

The driver, a 20-year-old man from Booroobin, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Nambour General Hospital.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.
