Eight month old baby among three killed in Quilpie crash

CHARLEVILLE police will investigate a fatal traffic crash that took the lives of three people on the Diamantina Development Road near Quilpie late Thursday afternoon.

Just after 5pm, a sedan and a utility, travelling in opposite directions collided around 60 kilometres east of Quilpie.

A 33-year-old man, 24-year-old woman and an eight month-old boy, all from Chinchilla and from the same car, died as a result of the crash.

The 57-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police closed that particular section of the Diamantina Development Road following the crash.

Meanwhile, a 63-year-old Glenore Grove man has died following a serious traffic crash late last year.

At about 6am on October 4, 2013 a light truck travelling east on the Warrego Highway at Tivoli veered off the road and through a railing.

The man was the sole male occupant of the truck and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.
