There are some things your mum shouldn't see

ONE man has learnt the hard way to always double-check photos before sending them to your mum or posting them to social media, just to make sure there is nothing inappropriate lurking in the image.

When the picture is of your girlfriend in bed then it is probably a good idea to triple-check.

At first glance, the picture that Maison Vallance took of his girlfriend seems like a nice, wholesome picture of her cuddled up in bed next to one of his T-shirts.

At least that is what Vallance intended it to be when he got his girlfriend Meghan to pose next to a shirt that his mum had bought him, which he thought he had lost.

In fact he thought Meghan looked "too pretty" not to post, so he shared the image to social media as well.

It wasn't long before one of Vallance's more vigilant friends noticed something that you definitely don't want your mum, let alone the whole of the internet to see.

"I'm going to regret this as soon as I ask, but the ropes ...?" one of his friends commented on the picture.

By the time the extremely suggestive ropes tied to his headboard were pointed out, it was far too late, the picture had been sent and the damage done.

Vallance posted a new tweet once he has realised his mistake, which has so far received nearly 60,000 retweets, crushing any hope he had of hiding it from his friends and family.

According to Indy100, his mum surprisingly didn't notice anything out of the ordinary with the photo until he had to break the news to her.

"She gave me a funny look then laughed! She thought it was hilarious," he said.

"My girlfriend was embarrassed at first but then embraced it."

It turns out she was more than okay with it and he claims she was even "glad it got nationally recognised".
