AN 18-year-old Kenilworth man was fighting for his life last night after he was stabbed during a dispute yesterday.

It was believed the man was attacked by the side of the Maleny-Kenilworth Road about 1.30pm after an altercation with another man.

Last night, police were still looking for the man responsible.

The victim was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital by the AGL Rescue Helicopter and immediately underwent emergency surgery.

Helicopter pilot Brent Hall said the man had been stabbed in the mid-torso and was suffering internal bleeding.

Details of his condition were not available last night, but it is believed he was in a critical condition.

Police are continuing their investigation.
