Lucky escape as truck and car collide

UPDATE 1.40PM: THREE people involved in a crash at North Mackay this afternoon were lucky to escape injury.

Emergency services have cleared the scene of the crash, which saw the left hand side of a sedan struck by a truck on the corner of Kenzey and Malcomson Streets, near the Caltex.

Queensland Ambulance services assessed three people at the scene however no one was transported to hospital.

Traffic was not affected by the accident.

BREAKING 1.15PM: EMERGENCY services are responding to north Mackay following reports a truck and car have collided.

Queensland Police, Fire and Ambulance are en route to the intersection of Kenzey and Malcomson Streets where the crash has occurred.

The persons in the car are reportedly elderly and injured.
