Little tackers tapping their way to victory

THE future of dance remains bright in Biloela thanks to the efforts of a few talented young girls.

The five and under group from Karla’s Dance Collective of Isabella Kelly, Thea Dawson, McKenna Brosnan, Amelia Engel and Zoe Britton have achieved some impressive results in recent weeks, including first place in the Biloela Dance Eisteddfod’s Tiny Tots category and second place in Gladstone Eisteddfod’s under 8 category last weekend.

Karla Lovell from Karla’s Dance Collective couldn’t be prouder of her students.

“They’re dancing extremely well for their age,” Ms Lovell said.

“Their class is one of our favourites to teach.

“They’re all so little but so determined and hardworking.

“I cannot wait to see them compete this weekend at the Rockhampton Dance Festival.”

Zoe Britton’s mother Kaitlyn said her four-year-old daughter loved the bright lights of the stage.

“She wants to get on stage, she loves being up there,” Mrs Britton said.

“All the makeup, costumes and getting up on stage gives her a thrill.

“I was a dancer as well so it’s lovely to see her do the same thing I used to do at all the same eisteddfods.”

Zoe started weekly lessons 12 months ago before taking it to the next level and beginning to train for competition.

“Zoe did her jazz exam in July and got her highest mark for her age group,” Mrs Britton said.

“And just sat her ballet exam as well.

“She wants to keep dancing and enjoying competing at eisteddfods.”
