Last race day for the year

THANGOOL Race Club is getting festive this weekend.

The Thangool Christmas Race Meeting marks the last race day on the 2018 social calender and promises to be a great day out for the community.

Secretary of Thangool Race Club Edwina Devine said although it was going to be a hot day, the racing action was going to be just as heated.

"It's going to be a good day out if anyone is looking for something to do,” she said.

"It is a smaller day because it is so hot and people have a lot going on, but we are still having our standard five-race program.

"We also have a couple of small Christmas parties and gatherings booked for the day. Events like this really bring the community together.

"Come along and support local events.”

The Thangool Christmas Race Meeting takes place Saturday, December 1, at the Thangool racecourse with gates open at 11am. Entry is $10 per person.

The first race of the day is scheduled to start at 11.15am to beat the afternoon heat.

Bookmakers and TAB will be available on the day, as well as an operating bar and canteen.

A free bus will also be departing from Target carpark, Biloela, at 11am.

Bookings can still be made for small gatherings of family and friends through to large groups. For table and marquee bookings, email Edwina at admin@thangoolraceclub.com.au or phone 49958190.
