Jet ski rider crashes into rock near Middle Island

A MAN was hurt after crashing his jet ski into a rock near Middle Island earlier today and was thrown over the handlebars.

The rider suffered shock and some muscle strain; and the jet ski isn't in a good condition.

It's been badly damaged and could not be towed and was left partly submerged with the bow showing.

The Yeppoon Coastguard was called to scene by another jet ski rider around 1pm.

The injured rider was taken to Rockhampton Hospital.
