Homegrown meat making a splash in the region

ON THE GO since 2017, Roseanne and Errol Mellor from Mellor Meats are bringing their business to the Banana Shire.

With their abattoir based at Gogango, the Mellor’s have begun to supply communities in the Banana Shire some of their quality meat product.

Mrs Mellor pointed out that they’ve most recently been setting up a Mobile Butcher Shop in Theodore on a fortnightly basis.

“We’ve been going to Theodore fortnightly and we have a lot of people coming back next weekend to see us, thanks to good feedback,” Mrs Mellor said.

“We are also hoping to find a venue at Banana and Goovigen and we have a venue at Thangool.”

Featuring Central Queensland born, bred and processed beef and pork, the Mellor’s are keen to help the small towns of the Banana Shire, a region close to their hearts.

“We have land in the Banana Shire and I lived in Theodore for nearly 20 years,” Mrs Mellor said.

“My husband Errol grew up in the Shire as well.

“We want to service small towns, we aren’t interested in serving places like Rockhampton.

“This move, it’s to build our business and we’ve been around the Shire off and on a lot of years and we like the Banana Shire communities.”

Mellor Meats plan on setting up their mobile butcher shop again at the following venues; October 26, Xtreme 1 servo Theodore 9am-12pm,Banana Hall 1.30pm-3pm October 27, Thangool Roadhouse 10am-12pm and the Goovigen Hotel 1.30pm-3pm.
