Two injured after crash, highway re-opened

ONE lane has been reopened on the Peak Downs Highway.

Motorists are asked to drive with care and abide by the temporary traffic controls in place.

7AM:

Two patients have been transported to Moranbah Hospital following the crash.

A 45-year-old woman has been taken in a serious condition with chest pain and multiple leg fractures and a 20-year-old man has been taken stable to Moranbah Hospital with facial injuries, the Queensland Ambulance Service said.

Meanwhile the Bruce Hwy about 10km north of Bowen is now open after a two-vehicle crash.

A police spokesman said the crash occurred about 5.45am and one person suffered minor injuries.

 

6AM:

One person is believed to be entrapped in a vehicle after a three-vehicle crash this morning.

Emergency services are still on scene as the highway remains shut, a police spokesman said.

He said the crash had involved two vehicles and a B-double on the Peak Downs Hwy in the Red Hill area of Moranbah.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said they received the call to attend about 3.40am.
