The overall entry increase was 2,386 (11% up on last year), with 5,578 entrants coming from interstate and 1,948 from overseas.
The Gold Coast Airport Marathon confirmed its position as hosting the most popular full 42.195km marathon in Australia with 4,106 runners.

There were 11 more people inducted into the 20 Year Club this year. This honour goes to people who have completed 20 of the same event in Gold Coast Airport Marathon history.
This year’s Corporate Teams Challenge proved a major success. The prize for the Largest Team was awarded toTeam Health with 628 participants. The Most Kilometres Travelled also went toTeam Health who racked up a total of 8,535km on the day. The winner of the BestTeam Spirit was Mantra Hotels and Apartments.
The Largest Fitness Team was won by Curves Gold Coast with 150 participants while the Most Kilometers Travelled by a Fitness Team was 1168.24km by the Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre. The Best Team Spirit winner in the Fitness Teams category was Contours Labrador.
The Gold Coast Airport Marathon is organised by Queensland Events Gold Coast which is a major event management company wholly owned by the Queensland Government through Queensland Events Corporation.
The 2010 Gold Coast Airport Marathon will be held on Sunday 4 July, and will be staged once again from there developed Southport Broadwater Parklands.
