19 YEAR-OLD Brigitte Best has always taken a keen interest in beauty.

The Certificate III in Beauty Services graduate from CQU has jumped at the chance to kick-off her career by recently opening the doors of Dambri Beauty.

"I've wanted to do this for many years and here's the opportunity," Ms Best said.

"I love that I get to make people feel beautiful all the time.

"Eventually I want to turn this into a full business where I can employ staff and provide a lot of different services."

Heading back to CQU in June to complete her Diploma of Beauty Therapy, Ms Best wants to offer as many beauty services as she can for Biloela and the surrounds.

"I want to keep a lot of these beauty services in Biloela to save people from travelling," Ms Best said.

"We had five beauty therapists in Biloela not so long ago but they have other commitments at the moment.

"I am young, some people might not take me seriously but I want everyone to know I have been accredited and I know what I'm doing.

"I am a perfectionist so I will make sure I do my best with everything."

Later in 2020, Ms Best will be able to offer massages and facial services.

Ms Best offers make-up, waxing, spray tans, nail and tinting services currently and with the completion of her Diploma later in the year, she will be able to offer massage and facial services.

Ms Best said she and her family spent four days painting and rearranging the furniture from the previous building occupant and friend Jackie Mayes from Exclusive Beauty.

When Jackie Mayes shut the doors of Exclusive Beauty, Ms Best jumped on the phone with Jackie and asked what she was doing with the vacant shop and now the rest is history.

"There wasn't many employment opportunities for beauty therapists in Biloela with most people being their own boss and working on their own," Ms Best said.

"I'm in the process of making signs up out the front and I've had really good feedback from clients.

"I would like to thank the Mayes family for making my dreams a reality"

Dambri Beauty is located at shop 4/45 Grevillea Street.
