Crash in Nerang this morning ends in double fatality

POLICE are investigating a double fatal traffic crash that occurred in Nerang early this morning.

Initial information suggests that shortly before 12.30am, a single vehicle was travelling along Ferry Street and has left the road and collided with a tree.

A 27-year-old Darra man and a 26-year-old Fortitude Valley woman were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police are seeking anyone that may have seen a black Subaru Forester in the area between 12.00 and 12:20am to contact them through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
