RODEO: Moura's Lawson Nobbs has claimed the biggest win of his blossoming career earlier this month highlighted by a Round 1 win at PBR Canada's Touring Pro.

He picked up a cool $4028 and 60 world points after riding Black Sugar for 85 points - a score that set the standard.

Nobbs, who came through the Young and Top Guns systems at the Great Western Hotel, is ready to graduate to the big time.

While he got bucked off in the final in Canada, it is his best finish to date.

"I went okay, it was good to get 85 points for the round but then I was bucked off in the final,” Nobbs said from abroad.

"But it was still the biggest bull ride I have won so far and my first PBR in Canada.

"I got into bull riding when I would have been about 12 with my school mates. We would go to the Western and kept doing it.

"Now I am competing with some of the Built Ford Tough riders, people I really look up to.”

Meanwhile Clermont's Aaron Kleier continues his quiet charge towards the coveted PBR Australian title following another successful weekend in Brisbane for Last Cowboy Standing.

He may not have won the event but his consistency is paying big dividends. He placed second in round 1 on Dunne's 5th Battalion for 86 points, just one quarter of a point behind reigning champ Cody Heffernan on Timm's Popping Candy.

Round 2 he marked an 83 aboard King's Whats Up for 83 points just ahead was Brazilian Robinson Guedes 83.25 on King's Houso and world ranked number 30, Troy Wilkinson who rode Dunnes Special Forces for 85.50.

Biddle's Storm Boy brought Kleier undone in the Championship Round.

The rookie rider will challenge Dysart gun Sonny Schafferius and Rocky's Jason Mara in a CQ contingent vying for the Australian title.
