Could this be Queensland’s best Santa ever?
THERE are only three sleeps until the big guy and his reindeer come to town, but one of his "helpers" at a Gympie shopping centre is so good he has local families taking to Facebook and proclaiming him Gympie's "best Santa ever".
This Santa goes above and beyond when it comes to creating special moments for his delighted young fans, or to capturing that perfect photo.
"All Santas should be like this guy," one Gympie mum said of the star performer at Gympie Central Shopping Centre.
"He was so awesome. He was walking around Central today looking for kids to say hello to," said Katy Rivette.
"Thank you for being an amazing, kind-hearted person," another fan wrote on Facebook over the weekend.
"He went over to a little boy with special needs and took some…selfies.
"This little boy was so excited he couldn't stop hugging him and smiling."
Chris Baker agreed this Santa is the best she has ever seen.
"He is genuinely nice. He spends the time and makes it a pleasant experience," she wrote.
The line-up of littlies to see the man in red yesterday was steady, and people had come from far and wide to see him, including Kym Ramsey, husband Ben and their four-year-old daughter Indianna.
"We've moved away but we always come here every year to get our picture with Santa," she said.
"This Santa is definitely better than the ones in Gladstone," Kym said.
A new Santa concept at Central Shopping Centre is Sensory Santa, a special, pre-booked Santa one-on-one for children with special needs such as those in the autism spectrum or who have intellectual disabilities.
