Children injured as car crashes into preschool

CHILDREN at Casino's Kookaburra Early Learning Centre were lucky to escape more serious injuries when a car crashed into the preschool yesterday.

A New South Wales Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the preschool on Johnston St about 4.30pm after reports a car crashed into the centre.

A four-year-old boy, who was trapped between the car and a fence, was treated at the scene for a shoulder injury, facial abrasions, pelvic injuries and a possible fractured left ankle.

The boy and a three-year-old girl, who suffered bruising to her forehead, were taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.
