RUGBY LEAGUE: It has been 227 days since Rockhampton Brothers had their dream season snatched from their grasp by arch rivals Norths Chargers.

Fullback Mitch Power still has sleepless nights going over the final stages. At full-time on September 3 last year, Power was lost for words, on his haunches, exhausted both physically and mentally.

His side were up by 12 with as many minutes remaining. They should have capped off the perfect season.

But the side that they both respect and despise the most got on a roll and when winger Bryan Spence handed Norths the lead, Brothers were done 24-18.

"That game gave me sleepless nights, plenty,” Power told The Morning Bulletin.

"Looking back now I think there were a few things we should have done during the game to stop them. So many contributing factors leading up to it.

"You can't blame the last 10 minutes.”

The 2016 Ollie Howden winner has admitted he would trade personal glory for a title.

But later today, he just wants revenge.

"A win will definitely help ease the pain,” he said.

"There is no one you want to beat more than Norths. It is never nice losing a grand final especially how we did. Now is our chance to put it behind us.”

Brothers lock Cooper Nobbs believes his side go into the game at Victoria Park as underdogs.

"We are coming in as underdogs and we need to bring our best footy,” Nobbs said.

"It will be a great game to win but firstly we just need to compete and get things in place for the rest of the season.

"Norths are a great side and we respect them a lot. We will work as hard as we can.

"They have a very big forward pack and once they get a roll on, they are very hard to stop. Even without Nathan Bassani, they have a great side and we will have our work cut out.”

Chargers hooker Lance Kuveu's smile gave it away. His cheeky grin failing to hide his excitement at what this afternoon's game will behold.

The Capras contracted dummy half had to watch Norths prevail on the sidelines having missed out on a place in the 17.

The PNG star just wants to rip in.

"I am really excited,” the smiling assassin enthused.

"Brothers will be fired up and physical, and that is what you want. I can't wait.

"We have prepared really well for this game, even with the floods we have got a lot of sessions in the tank leading in.

"Each week I try my hardest to crack the Capras squad but coming back to Norths is great. These are the games you look forward to the most.”
