APN NRL team of the week

BILLY SLATER (Storm): Answered critics who believed Greg Inglis should be the Maroons fullback, showing up the Rabbitohs custodian, with two tries and 227m.

DAVID NOFOALUMA (Tigers): Shrugged off an early biting allegation - against the Sharks - to score a try and run for 145m.

WILL HOPOATE (Eels): Can consider himself unlucky to have missed out on a Blues jersey. Has the softest pair of hands in the game, as he proved yet again against the Dragons.

JOSH MORRIS (Panthers): Wound back the clock two years, to that memorable Origin try-saver on Greg Inglis, with another, this time on a flying Shaun Johnson.

DAVID SIMMONS (Panthers): A consistent and underrated finisher, as he showed again against Canberra, with his historic 16th try against the Raiders - the equal most against the Green Machine, with Greg Inglis.

JOHNATHAN THURSTON (Cowboys): Made Roosters superstar Sonny Bill Williams, who lined up at five-eighth for the stood-down Mitchell Pearce, look amateur. Scored a try and set up five others.

COOPER CRONK (Storm): Enjoyed an explosive first 25 minutes against Souths, kicking for a Slater try, then crashing over himself. Masterful game.

MATT SCOTT (Cowboys): Another fine performance from another Queenslander on Origin eve, with Scott running for 154m against the Roosters.

ROBBIE FARAH (Tigers): Brilliant return from injury for the champion No.9 against the Sharks, with his blindside assist that led to Chris Lawrence's match-winning try the highlight.

JAMES GRAHAM (Bulldogs): How the Blues would love to have this Englishman playing for them - another bullocking performance with a try and 204m against the Warriors.

TONY WILLIAMS (Bulldogs): Cemented his spot on the Blues' bench with a line break, 151m and 18 tackles.

ANTHONY WATMOUGH (Sea Eagles): Very solid numbers in a rare off night for Manly in its scratchy win over Newcastle, running for 167m and 29 tackles.

PAUL GALLEN (Sharks): Big numbers yet again from the Blues skipper - 45 tackles and 181m, and also showed his ball-playing prowess, laying on a try for Michael Gordon with a beautiful short pass, and scoring one himself.
