Argonaut starts rock sampling

ARGONAUT Resources is to begin rock sampling at its Kroombit zinc and copper deposit south of Biloela.

Its managing director, Graeme Ellis, said samples would be tested to assess the viability of the resource from rock chips and surface mineralisation in the first of a four-phase program.

Future mining operations if the deposit proves viable will be by the open-cut method and the ore will be exported through the Port of Gladstone.

The Argonaut deposit has evidence of previous mining activity dating back as far as 100 years.

Argonaut has other copper and zinc deposits nearby.
