Archer regains lost school challenge

THE annual Archer and Mitchell Sports day was held at Goovigen State School on June 17.

After a defeat last year, Archer bounced back to win this year's sports carnival. Romanah Warry and Declan Lucy were ecstatic to be going up there as Archer's house captains and holding up that trophy.

Mitchell house captains, Brooke and Trent were proud to receive the march past trophy, judged by Mrs Clem. Champion Junior Girl recipient was Amara McDonald and the Best Trier was Emily Authors.

Champion Junior Boy was Brad Engel and the Best Trier was Cooper Brummell.

Well done juniors.

The Intermediate Girl Champion was Breanna Clair and the Best Trier was Megan Kent.

The intermediate Boy Champion was James George and the Best Trier was Shaun.

Congratulations Intermediates.

Finally the seniors. Senior Champion Girl recipient was Brooke Brummell and the Best Trier was Romanah Warry.

The Senior Champion Boy was Declan Lucy and the Best Trier was Trent Cavanagher.

Congratulations seniors. I hope you enjoyed your last year at Goovigen sports day.

Well done to both houses. Your behaviour was excellent and your sportsman ship was great.

You all achieved well.

Good luck to all who are going on to Small Schools sSport, being held here in Goovigen on July 17.
