A SHOPPING frenzy hit Biloela's Crazy Clarks on Wednesday after word spread the discount store would close.

Shelves were left bare after people rushed for bargains with most items 50% off.

Up to nine staff could lose their jobs. It is believed the store will close on Sunday, however the Central Telegraph was unable to get official word from the store manager or shopping centre management.

The announcement came on Monday after Deloitte Restructuring Services announced it was handling the administration of Retail Adventures, which operates the Crazy Clark's, Sam's Warehouse, Go-Lo and Chickenfeed franchises.

The administrator has put the company and its 238 stores under a licence agreement with DSG Holdings Australia.
