Robin Gibb loses battle with cancer
ROBIN Gibb, co-founder of the Bee Gees, has died after a long battle with cancer at age 62.
A spokesman confirmed the death to Rolling Stone magazine in a statement issued this morning.
"The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery," it said.
"The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time."
Gibb battled colon and liver cancer for two years.
He slipped into a coma earlier this year before waking up in a recovery that astounded doctors.
