MONTO horse enthusiasts attended a Pony Club of Queensland course-building clinic at the Crompton Park Pony Club grounds in Rockhampton.

They were under the guidance of former Olympian Guy Creighton.

Mr Creighton represented Australia in showjumping at the 1976 Montreal and 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

Monto Level B instructor Kirsten Burgess and Level C instructors Linda Brown and Annette Evans were trained in showjump judging and the fundamentals of building a course.

Annette said Guy was a bundle of knowledge, and she would recommend his coaching.

"The highlight was being shown different jumps and how to build a course," she said.

Kristen has her course building and show jumping accreditation and will continue training for her state level certificates. Linda and Annette are now probationary show jumping judges and course builders.
