Biloela Panthers eye off Broncos
BILOELA'S littlest league stars are preparing for the biggest game of their young lives.
The Biloela Panthers under-8s have been invited to play at Suncorp Stadium during the half-time break in the Brisbane Broncos versus Cronulla Sharks match during the June school holidays.
The team currently consists of six boys and they would like a few extra players to join them on the hallowed turf of Lang Park.
Matt Pattie, who is co-ordinating the match, said this was a great opportunity for these young boys to play at the home of rugby league in Queensland.
"The Broncos invite U8 teams to play during the half-time break at their home games," Pattie said.
"Our club is lucky to have been given this opportunity and because the boys will go up an age division next year, this is the only time they will have the chance to play in front of a Broncos home crowd in Biloela colours."
Pattie said the team needed a few extra players to take down to Brisbane.
"We would love to have a few more junior league fans from Biloela play in the match in Brisbane.
"Therefore we are asking any kids aged six to eight who are keen on giving league a go to attend training on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons, or to phone Jye Holt on 0427586633 or Shane Streeter on 0427656903.
"If we cannot get any more locals then we will invite players from Gladstone to help make up the numbers, but we'd prefer not to have to do that," Pattie said.
