Olympics song features sports sounds

A NEW Olympic Games theme song that features samples of athletes' heart beats, grunts and punches has been released.

Composed by British musician Mark Ronson, Anywhere in the World also features dubstep singer Katy B, Russian sprinter Kseniya Vdovina's heartbeart and UK table tennis player Darius Knight grunting, reported Rolling Stone magazine.

Athletes also feature heavily in the video, which features Ronson instructing an orchestra and Katy B performing in a sports stadium.

Ronson told the mag he was intrigued by some of the noises that came from different sporting events, and he wanted to incorporate the sounds into his song.

"Sport is music in the way that it has so many different natural rhythms," he said.

"When I was recording the athletes, I wasn't really thinking of them in terms of athletes performing a sport.

"I was thinking of them as people in an orchestra."
