Heavy rain may cause flooding
SOUTH-east Queensland is warned to be wary of rivers and creeks that could rise rapidly following heavy rain on Monday night.
Overnight storms dumped more than 100mm in the Maroochy River catchment area and 182mm at Point Lookout on Stradbroke Island.
With more heavy rain expected on Tuesday, the Bureau of Meteorology has warned of river and creek rises where the most rain fell.
Catchments that could be affected include the Upper Mary, Noosa, Maroochy, Mooloolah, Pine, Caboolture, Stanley, Logan, Albert and Gold Coast catchments.
The next BOM update is expected at noon.
