Friend gets a star

SHINING STAR: Amy Muston is raising funds to purchase a star for her friend Ryan Muller, who was killed in a car accident.

AMY Muston wants to do something out of this world to remember her friend Ryan Muller.

Ryan, 21, was killed on November 16 after he lost control of his Holden Commodore ute and collided with a tree on the corner of Valentine Plains Rd and Bailey's La.

Ryan's friends are organising a unique way to remember their beloved friend. Amy is organising to buy a star for Ryan.

"I have had to explain to a few people it's actually a star in the sky," Amy said.

The idea came after Amy talked to friend Justine Christerson.

"She had got one for one of her relatives and thought it might be a good idea."

Amy said she loved the idea of honouring her friend with a star.

"We have the Facebook page 'Name Ryan's Star', so everyone can choose names that they would like to name it.

"We had almost 100 likes in the first day, so it is getting out there pretty quickly."

Amy said she thought the idea of a star suited Ryan.

"He has always been there to help everyone, so we thought he will be watching over us like he always has, so we thought it suited him."

Amy first met Ryan when they started high school.

"He was just a big hearted, friendly, lovable guy.

"He talked to everyone at school who would walk past him."

Amy said there had already been some suggestions for the name of Ryan's star.

"We are just trying to decide what constellation to get him in. You get certificates with it and we will give that to his parents.

"We will be able to tell everyone where it is, so they can look out for it."

Amy asked for donations.

"The star is $110 and you can get all different packages. Any money we have left over, we will give (towards) Ryan's plaque."
