Flames destroy vehicle
A SINGLE mother of five has lost her independence after her car was torched in Thangool on Wednesday night.
"I don't know what I'm going to do," she said.
"I'm devastated.
"My car is destroyed."
The woman will have to rely on the help of others, taxis and walking now that her car is no longer drivable.
Her car was targeted after she lent it to a friend for the night.
The vehicle was parked behind the Red Steer Hotel Motel in Thangool when the incident occurred.
Damage included burnt tyres, scratches along the car, smashed side mirrors, windscreen wipers ripped off, dents and other fire damage.
"This has put me in a spot where I can't do anything," the woman said.
"You can't drive it.
"I can't take my kids anywhere because the baby seats were in the car."
The woman is now looking at how she will care for her five children without a vehicle.
"Walking is looking like a good option," she said.
"I guess I will have to rely on everyone else."
Police investigations are continuing to find out who was responsible for the attack on the unattended vehicle.
Witnesses are asked to contact police on 49922333 or Crimestoppers on 1800333000.
