Five out of six for Reds to progress

THE Queensland Reds know the maths - they need to win five of their last six matches to have a chance of making the play-offs this season.

It won't be an easy assignment when you consider what's on the horizon.

First up are the competition leaders, the Chiefs, at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.

While his team was impressive in keeping the Crusaders try-less last week, Reds coach Ewen McKenzie said another huge effort was needed.

"They (the Chiefs) are playing well as a team," he said.

"There is no doubt they are the benchmark side ... this will be a good challenge for us."

No.8 Scott Higginbotham and flyhalf Ben Lucas both spent time in the blood bin last week but will play, while prop Ben Daley is expected to return after missing last week with a minor hamstring strain.

A decision on Beau Robinson, who also missed last week with a fibula injury, will be made later in the week.
