Callide Valley meet your showgirl
NOTHING could keep Julie Briggs away from Biloela.
After a short stint at university Julie has come back home to take out the 2012 Callide Valley Miss Showgirl.
"I went away for uni for four years but now I'm back," Julie said.
After settling back into her home town as full-time pharmacist at Biloela Discount Chemist, Julie was ready to get involved in the community again.
"I thought it would be a good chance to get out into the community."
Julie said her nomination in the Miss Showgirl contest was spurred on with the thought of the competition one day disappearing.
"Also I think it is a really good way of getting the younger generation involved in the show," she said.
"I've been amazed at how much support I have received.
"Even at work my boss Naomi Bath paid for my nomination."
Julie said support has amped up after winning the title.
"People were coming up to me at the show and congratulating me and even coming into work the next couple of days. Everyone has been offering me help with the next round and saying good luck," she said.
"The prizes were also amazing I was not expecting that much.
"The community has just thrown so much support behind this event."
The 23 year old makes no secret of her love for her town.
"It's in my heart so I'm not leaving any time soon. I love Bilo," she smiled.
Julie will now represent the Callide Valley Show at the Regional Miss Showgirl competition later this year.
