MORE than 100 golfers took to the Biloela Golf Club last weekend to play in the districts first open for the year.
Biloela Golf Club held their Mixed Open and their Men's Open over the weekend.
Over 50 golfers turned out for the Biloela Mixed Open on Saturday.
Captain of the Biloela Golf Club Peter Johnson said the group were happy with the number of players attracted to the event.
"We had people come from Moura, Baralaba and Biloela turn out to play," Peter said.
"We were really impressed with the turn out."
Adam and Linda Marxsen from Biloela took out top honours as the winners of the event.
The Biloela Men's Open was held on Sunday and attracted over 100 players, including 57 A-grade golfers for the entire region.
"We had players come out from Mt Morgan, Wowan and Rockhampton. It was the first open for the district so we had a good turn out and we had a really good range of players."
Sid Mills took out A-grade net results with Joe Brennan runner-up.
For B-grade Barry Stapleton won with Ian Johnson in runner-up. Craig Power received first in C-grade net with Gavin James runner-up.
The overall gross was won by Michael Neaton with Dean Blunt in runner-up.
A-grade pin went to Steve Deitrich, Mathew Howe took out B-grade with C-grade pin going to John Jarvis, open pin was Damian Marrinan.
Caine Austin took out A-grade long drive, Mathew Hutton was B-grade's winner and C-grade long driver went to Philip Matherson.
Biloela ANZAC Memorial Club and Aitken Welding sponsored the event.
The Biloela Golf Club will also be holding the Apex Bank of Queensland Golf Day on March 17 with all funds raised going to the Daniel Morcombe foundation.
"Then later that night we will be having a seafood night with a band and an auction of golf memorabilia."
